Dog Days Over At Tech Terrace Park

Tech Terrace Park became Lubbock's defacto dog park in 2011.  Every night around 6 or 7 the park would be filled with dogs running and frolicking.  This past Friday and Saturday, officers from the Lubbock Police Department and Animal Services were on hand to let dog owners know that it was not okay to let their dogs run free.  According to George Torres, head of Animal Services, the city had received several complaints over the past few months about untethered dogs chasing joggers and messes left behind.  Signs in the park clearly state all dogs must remain on a leash.

  3. Complaints did not come from joggers. If you want to help try and get a for real dog park, come to the Unit Association meeting on the 27th of this month at 5:30 Hutch middle school. Can't talk if you don't live in tech terrace, but at least you will be there. We need to have a plan about this instead of a "bitch session". We can all get together and make this happen if we are adult and professional about it. Unlike the grownings of a bunch of people that just like to complain.
