Helen Liggett has submitted the following to be shared. Please note the letter below
The Parks Board will be looking at the pavilion and bathroom issue at the next meeting on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at noon at City Hall, Committee Room 103 at 1625 13th Street. We need as many folks there to support Wagner Park as possible, or they are going to rip out the pavilion and bathrooms.

Update on Realtor Listing
Westmark has changed the text in the rental listing for 3101 20th regarding roommates. The following email exchange was shared with UNIT News.
To: "'Nita Kiesling'" nkiesling@westmarkcommercial.com
Subject: RE: Mary Vines with Concern for Westmark
Thanks, Nita, for the good response to our concern. I'm copying this to those in charge of our Tech Terrace/UNIT News and to our association officers, so that they'll all know that you've worked to rectify the situation. We have real appreciation for the firms and realtors who are sensitive and cooperative with our efforts to maintain this as a viable R-1 family neighborhood.
Again, with gratitude,
Mary

Mary—Thank you for alerting us to the problem advertising for a house to rent. The listing agent apologizes and has this morning changed the web site. It was simply an oversight but one we as management may never have known about unless some good neighbor let us know. For a little history of the listing, I have learned while roommates occupied the home earlier, we did not take on management of the home until August 1. The “roommates” are moving out and it will be rented by new tenants.
We do appreciate your concern about our reputation and if you could help us set the record straight now, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks again and sincerely,
Nita Kiesling

Local Realtor Flagrantly Disregarding Residency Ordinance?
A prominent local realtor appears to be brazenly ignoring the no more than two unrelated residents restriction in the UNIT neighborhood. WestMark Realtors posted the following ad on their website. I would hope that this is a case of ignorance of the ordinance rather than blatant greed. The home in question is owned by folks in Kerrville.

Burglar Foiled By Persistent Neighbor and Technology
The following was received from Dannie Botros regarding a recent burglary.
Booking SheetDear friends –
Our house was burglarized last Friday, July 23, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. with lots of neighbors in front yards, etc. Our case is interesting for two reasons:
Our burglar was Dyer Kennedy – I have enclosed his mug shot – you need to be familiar with his appearance (yes, I know he is dressed as a female.) He had been arrested the Monday July 19, 2010 and bonded out on a $2,500.00 bond. These bonds are very low and it is easy to get out and repeat. Be familiar with his appearance and, if you see him, let him know he is being watched.
The second reason that our case is interesting is that, with the help of global positioning on my new I-Pad (which was one of the items stolen), we were able to track the person and assist the police in his arrest that evening. We followed him to his house, to pawn shops ….. We did get back most of our stuff – except for some gold bracelets which I am still looking for at pawn shops – with the help of detectives. I am very fortunate to have a wonderful staff – Francy and Joel – who helped me track this guy. The police are unfamiliar with global positioning – but were extremely helpful. I am very much “PRO L.P.D.” after this episode.
Note that my husband did interrupt the burglary and our alarm system alerted me at work.
We really need neighborhood cooperation in stopping this type of crime.
Thanks –
Dannie Botros
