Happy Halloween

Little ghosts, zombies and vampires will invade Tech Terrace on Halloween.  It is customary to leave your porch light on if you want trick or treaters.  Please drive slow as there will be a lot of children hitting the streets.

A Message from UNIT NA President Susan Tomlinson

There's a general neighborhood association meeting Thursday night, at 6 PM, at Forrest Heights United Methodist Church. Here's the agenda: Proposed changes to the new by-laws, including bringing back the summer meeting and moving the annual meeting to April (instead of October); election of interim officers (to be explained at the meeting); Wagner Park pavilion update; need for committee chairs and the future of the Holiday Home Tour and Movies in the Park; enforcement of leash laws in Tech Terrace Park. Be there or be square.

Thanks,

Susan

Dog Days Over At Tech Terrace Park

Tech Terrace Park became Lubbock's defacto dog park in 2011.  Every night around 6 or 7 the park would be filled with dogs running and frolicking.  This past Friday and Saturday, officers from the Lubbock Police Department and Animal Services were on hand to let dog owners know that it was not okay to let their dogs run free.  According to George Torres, head of Animal Services, the city had received several complaints over the past few months about untethered dogs chasing joggers and messes left behind.  Signs in the park clearly state all dogs must remain on a leash.
